How long do I have to dispute a charge?
I used an online photo service (ColorInc) and I ordered prints for $30 something dollars. They did not say the shipping charges, as it would be calucated later. on 5/28 they processed a charge for the 30 something and then the next day they charged an additional $74!! I called the company and they said thats how much it cost to ship 5-8x10 in a thin box that didn't even weight a pound!!! I am so mad about this!!
Needless to say, I have wamu/chase And completly forgot to call them about this charge. I did not authorize a $74 charge for shipping. And had I known it would cost that, I would not have purchased the pictures at all!!! And the company told me they thought that was a lot too, but there was nothing they would do for me
Is there a time limit to deny a charge? and how do I go about doing this?

I believe you only have 30 days to dispute charges on a cc.

Re: How long do I have to dispute a charge?
You must notify your credit card company within 60 days after the date of the statement on which the charge appears.

its my debt card, so its my bank statement that says 5/1/09-5/31/09 would I still be able to deny it?

I'm not sure, but I believe it goes by the date on the bank statement (i.e. when it was generated not the range).

Re: How long do I have to dispute a charge?
if its your debit card, do you have the same fraud protection as with your credit card? I think it is different. I know with my amex, when I have disputed, they take it off immediately. I don't think it is as easy to dispute a debit card charge.

It is. Debit cards have zero liability if used as a visa or m/c. They issue a provisional credit for the disputed item almost immediately.
