How long do you think Trump will be president?
It will be interesting to see this thread in the future and see who was accurate.... 
For whatever reason, how long do you think Trump will be president?
I definitely don't see him in office the full 4 years. It's a toss-up whether he gets bored or tired of the job and quits, or whether he gets impeached, and the Republicans put Pence in charge like they really want.
I'm thinking that if he tanks as bad as it seems he will (I so hope I am wrong on this, since his failure is our failure, but it's hard to be too optimistic at this point), the GOP will use him as the scapegoat for the 2018 election, and impeach him and blame him alone for all of the bad things, and try to hold onto their Senate and House seats.
At this point, I'm thinking about a year... Congress can't do anything quickly, and they probably want to see how much they can get away with first, before they jump on him. He's not letting them do a bunch of things they want, so he's not their ideal president at the moment.

I agree with you. Truly, I can't imagine him making it to even 2 years in office before impeachment proceedings begin. Before even taking office he's demonstrated his lack of self control, lack of respect for the rules of this country, lack of understanding of issues at home and abroad and lack of understanding on many key issues and responsibilities of the job.
Like I've always said, he had ZERO interest in actually winning. The campaign was all a big game and giant ego trip for him. Once he realizes the demands and stress of running a nation AND once he realizes he will not be all powerful he will tire very quickly of the job. Either he's going to bow out or be pushed out but either way, he's NOT lasting 4 years.

He won't quit. It's not his style.
I said 1-3 years just because impeachment and removal take time.
Nixon lasted 5 and a half years before resigning. But, I can't see Trump lasting one term, much less more than one.

Michael Moore predicted that it's bc he is such a narcissist that he will no doubt break a law sooner or later. I'm hoping for not much more than a year.
I used to think Pence would be worse but I would gladly get rid of all Trump's BS so we can focus on fighting the real issues.

I think there will come a point where Congress will not be able to ignore the conflicts and will do what they need to do to hold onto their seats.
Also, where there is smoke, there is fire with regard to the Russia ties. I have no doubt some of his people were in on it and it's just a matter of time before the full story comes flowing out (sorry, couldn't help myself ). All jokes aside, I think he is not fully respecting the danger of Putin and Russia and even if he had no knowledge and it's all ********, that it will still be his undoing. Hopefully it will happen before we get into a nuclear showdown.

I think it'll be less than or roughly one year.
But at this point, nothing shocks me. I wouldn't be surprised if something was revealed between now and Friday that would prevent him from being inaugurated, and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets voted in for a second term.

The side that loses often fantasizes about impeachment. They did the same with Obama (in addition to assassination, which I was actually worried about myself) but I think we're in this for four years, like it or not.
If he gets reelected and goes another 4, that's our failing. No one this incompetent and undignified should be able to get elected again, and it will be because the dems failed to learn if it happens.

I don't think he will ever, ever win reelection if he lasts 4 years. Dems or not - the people won't let it happen again.

But we've never had a candidate in our lifetimes that is already dancing around several impeachable activities. This isn't "sour grapes". There are active committees looking into ties between Trump, his Cabinet picks, and Russia. His conflicts of interest are astronomical. His use of Twitter is already causing tensions with other countries.
Just because Trump was elected because he isn't part of the establishment, and plays by his own rules doesn't mean the established rules don't apply to him.
This is uncharted territory for everyone. Bill Clinton was impeached for lying, so we all know that words matter, and can potentially take a president out of office.

He's way too narcissistic and power hungry to resign. So he'll stay as long as we keep him.
He's going to be in for at least two years. Congress impeaches, and both houses are Republican for the next two years at least. It's just not going to happen under those circumstances.
I would love to say 4 years, but it's hard to predict what will happen when so many people vote against their own interests.
