How long do you wait to contact people who don't RSVP?
I am waiting on ALOT of DH's friends to RSVP to his surprise 40th...today is the RSVP date. (yes, i've already put on another post I am irritated today by something totallly unrelated so it's a trickle-down effect).
I am friends with all these guys on FB (who I see posting ALL the time) they all have my cell number, no excuse on how to contact me without DH knowing.
I was going to wait until Friday and send them either FB messages or texts, cell call if I have to. Is that too soon? The party is the 19th. I have to order food this weekend.

I would send them a reminder today. We have a couple of friends who do this.. and some RSVP and don't show up.

I would give them till the end of the week, then start reaching out.
I hate when I don't get RSVP's. Especially this day and age, with email and text.

Some people.
Like my mother in law... think its okay to not RSVP.
'If you don't hear from them... assume they're not coming.'
(But then she doesn't RSVP either. When its obvs she's coming.)
Put one last thing up on facebook and start calling people the day after tomorrow.

I agree with sending a reminder today
Totally share your frustration with this- our RSVP date for my ds's christening is this week and we havent heard from 90% of the guests

I would wait until tomorrow then send them a text or FB message so you'll know before the weekend. I would also write if I don't hear from you I am assuming you won't be there or something similar.

Ditto. Although I find that usually the ones who don't respond by the RSVP date are not responding at all without you hunting them down. It's annoying.

If you have to order food over the weekend, then Friday's not too soon. 2-3 extra days is plenty of time - and honestly, I've found that giving people extra time doesn't really help anyway. Often the people who haven't RSVPd by the requested date just won't RSVP at all no matter how long you wait, whether it's because it slipped their minds or some other reason.

anywhere btwn today and friday is totally acceptable.. but i think if u wait till friday people may tend to forget to answer u back bc of the weekend (people are more on their computers during the week at work)
i would send a reminder either today or tomorrow..,

If today is the rsvp date & food needs to be ordered, I would probably send a reminder tomorrow. I hate when people don't rsvp.

if you need to order food this weekend, then i would send out a reminder today; making sure to explain why I NEED to know... ordering food, etc). and then if they didn't respond I would contact each one directly on friday to get a straight answer.
if i cant get a hold of them or an answer from them by friday... then they are a no in my book.

I would send out one last FB/text message. At the end of the message I would put "If I don't hear from you then I'm going to assume you're not coming".

I try to wait until the RSVP date has passed but I would have to balance that with knowing that I need to order the food. I tend to be a late RSVPer but usually by a day or two. I know, after all the years on the LIW and LIF message boards, seeing how it's poor etiquette I should really change my ways!!!!! I don't mind the gentle reminders. How could I when I am the one who is late?
