How long does daycare last until school?
I have searched the articles on here and luckly found a gauge for how much diapers/formula will cost. I saw that daycare may run 1,200. a month(on the low end) when first having a kid.
When does the cost for daycare begin to decrease when they start getting older, and how much?
Dh thinks that when we have a second kid, when the first kid turns 5 they will go into school and it will only cost 5,000. then? Is there a early drop off and late pick up program at school?
im clueless how that works, and want to make sure budge is good thanks!!!

Our daycare center doesn't give a price break until they hit 3 years old. Then it gets cut almost in half.
They also give a 10% discount with a sibling enrollment.
My daycare also has a before and after progam for school age from K-5. For 5 days a week it's about or a little less the same price as fulltime daycare for a 3 year old. They bus the kids to and from the school district elementary schools.

Most schools have before and after care. My son is in aftercare at his school and I pay $12 a day and it runs until 6. I pick him up at 5:15 though. I found that Kindercare and Tutor Time aftercare programs (in my area) run about $400 a month. You could probably look at your school districts website for their aftercare options. I know many are run through Scope or the YMCA.
