Usually 2-3 weeks. Our title company was insanely slow and needed to be babysat to get it done- 1 1/2 months later they finally finished it. We're not talking about a complicated one either--- 2 previous owners both recorded, no liens or other issues. No excuse for the delay.

It depends on how extensive the detail is on the title search, if they do a full CO search at the same time, and what town the new home is in. In the Town of Babylon, a full title & CO search can take 6 - 10 weeks.
