How long does it take to get the SS card and birth certificate?
DS is 2 weeks old and we havent received either doc yet. DH is paranoid and thinks the hospital somehow screwed things up. How long is it supposed to take to get them?

You should have them both before your baby is a month old.

We received both by the time DS was one month old.

The SS card came right away, within 2 weeks. The birth certificate didn't come until around 10 weeks.

Not necessarily.
It depends on where you gave birth. We got the BC when DS was about 3 weeks old and the SS when he was about 5...

I got the Birth certificates a little bit before 2 weeks old and I just got the Social security cards, they were a few days short of 3 weeks old. It seemed fast to me compared to my son.
