How long for a child's birthday party?

How long is a typical child's birthday part held at home?

Re: How long for a child's birthday party?

We had a party with no end time.

Invitation time was 10:30. Most people arrived closer to 11 and left at 1 so ~2 hours. We had entertainment at 11 and served lunch at 12.

Good friends stayed until 3 or so...

We just came back from a home party that was scheduled to be 3-6pm. I thought that was pretty long and the preschool classmates all headed home around 5.

Re: How long for a child's birthday party?

DD's party is next weekend and there is no end time, so whenever people want to leave. I went to one today and stayed for 3 hours, but it was still going on after I left.
I would have stayed way longer, but DD was exhausted so we left early.

Re: How long for a child's birthday party?

Went to one today. 1st birthday held at grandparent's home. Invite stated 1-5PM. Most people arrived by 2; some started leaving around 5:30. We left at 6:30 but close family stayed (last I checked my parents aren't home yet.)

For DS' 1st bday (held at our home) we had a start time of 2PM and no end time. Most people stayed until about 7 but we had about 10 close family members stay until about 10, way after DS had already gone to bed.

I did 4 hours...but if it's at a place typically they do 1.5-2 ...but for home or park...4 seems to be common

The parties that we have at home are no specific end time. The parties that are at places typically are 2 hours max.
