How long should non stick cookware last
I have Calphalon non stick skillets, and they are definitely worn after only 2 years. Is this normal? How often do you replace them?

yes it's normal.... and pretty disturbing because it means you ATE all of that teflon
I'm a bit of a cooking feind.... and a medical researcher... it's super-disturbing that every american tested had teflon in their blood
I recommend all-clad stainless steel pots... no coating. They distribute heat wonderfully, which leads to more even browning, and less burning. and for non-stick purposes, get a few nice cast iron skillets... it will take a couple years before they're non-stick, but once seasoned, they work better than caphalon, and there's no toxic chemicals leaching into your food Mine are about 5 years old, and my sunny side ups never stick
HTH!

Re: How long should non stick cookware last
I have All Clad stainless pots & pans, & we just bought a non-stick fry pan from All Clad. We really only use it when making eggs b/c they stick really badly to my stainless pans. The paperwork that came with my non-stick pan said it should never be put in the dishwasher.
I though non-stick pans weren't made with Teflon anymore?

Use butter before cooking the eggs. I was using Pam spray and was cursing them when I first got them. With the butter, they slide right off.

Re: How long should non stick cookware last
I thew out all my old junk and have a nice set of all clad stainless steel
I purchased 2 all clad non stick frying pans, one is 12 inch and one is 14 inch so they are nice and big, i also got an all clad non stick double burner griddle
I put them in the dishwasher and i only use silicone spatulas so they don't get scratched.
If i see them getting worn out i will have to throw them out and buy new ones

Re: How long should non stick cookware last
FYI, I believe that Calphalon will replace your cookware if the non-stick surface comes off. Give them a ring, or drop them an email!
