How long to get birth cert or ss card?
I did it through the hospital's I just can't recall the time frame and I want to finalize insurance

I got the social security card super fast and the birth certificate shortly after that. I was shocked at how quick -- within three weeks.

I think within 30 days. The woman at the hospital said if I didnt get it in 30 days to call her.

They said at the hospital that it could take 4-6w. But I'm pretty sure it was only about 3w.

My DD was born on 6/27 and still haven't gotten either.
I remember for my DS, I got the SS card pretty quickly but the birth certificate I actually had to call the town's registrar department because I was getting close to a month and I needed it for health insurance purposes. They told me they were backlogged due to the amount of births but they got it to me before the month was up. I have a feeling i'm probably going to have to call again with my DD.

If you're teetering on the timeline you can ask the hospital to give you a statement of treatment letter. My little guys birth certificate didn't come until the 11th hour. I faxed the letter to the insurance and everything was fine. I submitted the birth certificate after I received it
