How many bottles per day for your 15mo dc?

How many bottles per day does your 15 month old drink? My daughter still drinks 3 8oz bottles a day (5oz milk/3oz water), and she's eating three meals a day as well. Her doc appt isn't for another 2 weeks, but I wanted to see how your little ones are eating.

She eats:

bfast - 8am
bottle - 11am
lunch - 1pm
bottle - 3pm
dinner - 6pm

I think it's time that she can stop drinking the 11/3 bottles and have a healthy snack instead, right? Or, am I jumping the gun?

Thank you!!!

PS - She weighs 21# and she's 15mos.

Okay, so it sounds like she's on track then...

Your doc said she should drink a minimum of 12oz a day? Or, she shouldn't drink more than 12oz a day?

She said she could have "as little as 12 oz" so I took that as no less than 12 oz (minimum) Chat Icon

He is 17 months but he gets one small one 3-4oz when he wakes up.
then 6-8oz at nap
6-8oz bedtime

He's been starting to sleep through the night but when he doesn't and refuses to go back down he'll get a 3oz bottle.

My Ped says at the age they should be drinking between 16-24 ounces a day. My DD is 18 months and drinks about 16 ounces of milk a day.

ETA: When she wakes in the morning she gets water, at around 2pm she gets an 8oz milk and at 6pm another 8 oz milk. Through out the day she gets a sippy with water when ever she asks for it.

DS is 16 months. He gets 1 sippy cup of milk at each meal. The rest of the time he drinks water in a sippy cup. He probably drinks 18-24 oz of milk per day.

Re: How many bottles per day for your 15mo dc?

My DD stopped her bottles completely at 15 months and drank her milk from sippy cups. I would think it would be fine to give snacks with milk in place of the bottles. Some find it easier to slowly take one bottle away at a time, but for me, we did cold turkey and it seemed to work out.
Use your discretion, if you think she still needs the bottle, it's fine to give it to her. Good luck.Chat Icon

DD is off bottles during the day compeltely and gets milk in a sippy.

I give her one bottle at night for my own convienence and peace of mind bc I KNOW she is getting her vitamin and at least 7 or 8 solid ozs.

I ditched the bottles around 13 months.

Re: How many bottles per day for your 15mo dc?

We do 3-6oz bottles (8am, 1pm, 7pm). Our pediatrician wanted no more than 24oz per day, but said around 16-18oz were better in his opinion. My dd is on the low end of the weight curve (<5th percentile) and he wants her eating more food and less milk.

Chloe drinks 2 sometimes 2 1/2 10oz sippy cups of milk a day. I give her one in the morning with breakfast (she drinks about 4 oz) I refill it and she has a whole cup at around 11 with lunch. She drinks another sippy cup throughout the afternoon (A few ounces with snack and the rest with dinner)
