How many days per week of preschool for a 3.5 year old?
My daughter is doing great for two mornings a week at age 2.5. As I look into programs for next year I'm tempted to increase the number of days since she seems to be having so much fun and I'll have a new baby at home. What do you think is ideal?

Re: How many days per week of preschool for a 3.5 year old?
Jacob is going 3 days a week for 2 hours a day and he is doing fantastic, I am actually thinking of doing stay and play on 2 of the days to extend his day to 9:30-1... He is only 2...
Next year, I plan on sending him 5 days a week If you can do that... They are also extending their hours so I have to see what is offered...
I think that if your DD is doing great and you can do it, there is no reason not to increase the days, plus it will be easier with a new baby..

Re: How many days per week of preschool for a 3.5 year old?
My son just started nursery school and he was 3 in May. I did not enroll him in a 2-year old program, so we started him at 3x per week (9-12, so 9 hours per week).
Looking back, I was nervous about how he would do with separation and I wanted to go slow. I am now thinking of bumping him to either full day on the 3 days he goes (9-2) OR moving him to 5 days a week.... We'll probably discuss and make a decision for January. He loves his school and so do we. I might even enroll my DD their for next year (she will be 2), even though we didn't send my son until he was 3.

My DD is going 3x a week. She was 3 in July. Next year I will send her for 5 days. I did the same with my DS and was happy with the amount of days per week.

if your DC is already in a program than I'd think upping it next year is a great idea. I too have a little baby at home but I was nervous signing my toddler up for many days since this was her first real separation from me. Go figure, she loves school so 3x would be great! It'd be nice to have that time alone with the baby too.

My friends all do 3 days a week at that age. Miranda will be starting when she's 3 and I was going to start her with 3 days a week.

My Daughter is 3.5 and goes for 3 days a week (9-1pm). I can't wait for next year. It's 5 days a week (9-1pm ) When she was 2.5 she went for 2 days a week as well.

My daughter is 2.5 and goes 3x a week for 2.5 hours each day. Next year I'm keeping her at 3 days and sending my son who will be just 2 for 3 days also. Then when she goes into the 4 year old class I'll up it to 5 days. I like having the 2 days where we can all go play or to a museum or whatever.
