How many "layers" do you sleep with in the winter?

I just bought a new Laura Ashley comforter set, which I absolutely LOVE, but it doesnt seem very heavy. I'm concerned about it not being warm enough once it gets cold out. I'm thinking about getting this blanket from Pottery Barn to go in between the comforter and top sheet, but it just seems like a lot of layers to get all tangled up, and a pain to make the bed in the morning. Does anyone do this...have a top sheet, light blanket, and comforter? Is it a PITA?

thanks

we have 3 also, flat sheet, blanket and down comforter in a duvet. Usually I end up with the sheet and blanket and DH ends up with the comforter haha...

We have a top sheet, a blanket and our comforter. If it's particularly cold I throw a blanket over my side of the bed.

We have the sheet, a blanket and a duvet. We put a tiny blanket over the duvet for the dog.

For us it's because we don't have a comforter - we have a bedspread which is considerably lighter. We need an extra blanket for warmth.

For others - it's for their animals.

Apparently it's more common than not.

2, sometimes 3.

Top sheet, comforter and on really cold nights we have a fleece that we throw on top of the comforter.

Re: How many "layers" do you sleep with in the winter?

For me a top sheet and comforter. DH hates the sheet and kicks it to the bottom of the bed on his side. So when he freezes in the winter (I like it cold when I sleep) I tell him to use the sheet. Chat Icon

Re: How many "layers" do you sleep with in the winter?

i have that exact blanket from PB in white actually. DH and i sleep with separate blankets because he likes light and i like warm and snuggling, so i get the comforter and he gets that lighter blanket. this prevents cover-stealing too.

i don't think it's hard to make, but i don't work the light blanket in. i fold it and lay it over the bottom of the bed.

Re: How many "layers" do you sleep with in the winter?

Flast sheet and a down comforter. If it is a REALLY cold night we put a blanket over the down comforter by our feet.
But for the most part 2 layers

In case the comforter isnt warm enough, I will definitely need an extra blanket. I think I'll probably just wait until it gets cold and get it then if we need it.

In the middle of the winter, we have a comforter (which is relatively light), 1-2 blankets, and a sheet. We keep our house very cool in the winter.

Re: How many "layers" do you sleep with in the winter?

Just a really good down comforter. If it is like sub zero out I'll add my little blue blanket I have had since I was like five years old lol Chat Icon but other than that the down is so great.

Re: How many "layers" do you sleep with in the winter?

at least 3 or 4 layers at night! sheets, comforter, quilt at the very least. I can't stand wearing heavy pj's to sleep & I turn the heat off at night & crack open the window in the winter, so it gets COLD.
