How many of you would not mind

working these hours, 11:00a.m. - 8:00 p.m.? I think it would be great b/c I could get in my morning workout but on the other hand, not sure sure I would want to get home that late. Oh another plus, It would only take me 2 minutes to drive home....

If it was me right now,...I would not mind. But if I had children I would mind.

Re: How many of you would not mind

I wouldn't mind. 11-7 would be better though. Chat Icon 9 hours is a long day.

Been there. Hated it. I'm an early bird and love my 7-2 job. I leave my house around 5.

Re: How many of you would not mind

Hi, well my DH is working these hours now...well 10 am-6pm (technically, although w/ OT he gets home around 10) & its terrible. He said the whole day is shot & its hard to run errands, make calls, etc.

We have children & I teach; so we barely see e/o--although he does see/drop off kiddos in the am

I wouldn't mind at all, esp with a 2 minute commute! I leave work at 7-7:30p and still have a good hour to get home! Plus I leave at 9am so I'd love more AM time.

i would LOVE it... i am so not a morning person. i always joke with the teachers at my school that i wish we had night school because i would teach those hours. your hours would have been ideal hours for me before my baby.

Re: How many of you would not mind

Having a child, I would hate it. I also am a morning person. I am in the office between 7 & 8 when I go in and like to get home when I can by 4:30 or 5 at the latest.

I'm getting ready to change jobs because i get home around 8pm a few days a week, I also have a one hour commute so it doesnt leave me much morning time. I've done it for 11 years and my DH is ready for me to be home so we can eat dinner together.

Re: How many of you would not mind

Could you change your hours down the road if you had to? If so, and everything else is great about the job, I would do it.

I was always a 9-5 kind of person until I had one job that was 7-3. I balked at it and complained. But I found over time that I actually preferred it! My start time has been either 7 or 7:30 for about 8 years now and I love it.

I would HATE it, I am a morning person. I can make my own schedule and I am here at around 6:30 almost every day by choice!

Re: How many of you would not mind

Like other people said "Not if I had DC". I have DC, so I wouldn't like that schedule. I wouldn't see DC at night, wouldn't have dinner with them, would miss their evening activities (soccer, swimming, karate, etc).
In the summer it wouldn't be as bad, since I could see them in the AM, but during the school year, I wouldn't see DS for more than a few minutes a day during the week.

Re: How many of you would not mind

I work 10am (ok more like 10:15) to 7pm now and it works for me

I get to work out in the morning and take me time plus I don't hit traffic (I drive from long beach to smithtown)

My boyfriend works from 9am- 8:30 or 9pm so it works for us now

But I leave early on friday

Re: How many of you would not mind

I prefer to come in early & then leave early. I'm a morning person, so if I had to be int he office at 6am & got to leave at 3, I would be in heaven.

Re: How many of you would not mind

I wouldn't like those hours, but my DH works them sometimes now as part of his rotating schedule. It works for us now, but when we have kids it might be a little difficult.

I would love it. I come in at 8 and sometimes work until 8. I would love to work 2-3 less hours a day.

Re: How many of you would not mind

it would be nice to be able to sleep in but with a LO on the way that concept is about to fly completely out the window.Chat Icon with that said, the hours would probably get to me eventually anyhoo because theres not much time left in the day to run errands or just lounge with DH. i like that we can have dinner together every night too.
