How many ounces does/did your 5 week old eat in a day?
Since starting formula Landon is eating much less. We went from about 40 ounces of pumped breat milk per day to ~8 oz formula + 16-20 oz pumped breastmilk per day. He is going longer between feedings and doesn't want to finish the bottles. Is he getting enough (he still has a lot of wet and poopy diapers). My next ped. appointment isn't for 2 more weeks so I thought I would ask here first.

Formula fills them for longer period of times. If he still has plenty of poopy and wet diapers, I wouldn't worry about it. At 5 weeks, I was feeding approximately every 3 hours, except at night - I let him sleep. Babies eat when they are hungry.

Ryan is 16wks and takes about 30-35oz/day (I nurse him 2-3x and he gets 3-4 pumped bottles of 5oz)

My daughter was born the same day as Landon-she takes about 20-25 oz per day of formula. She doesn't always finish the bottle.

at 5 weeks DS was eating between 3 and 3.5 ozs each feeding. He got 4 bottles of BM and 4 bottles of formua.

Our ped always said between 24-30 oz of formula. DS ate 5 6.5 oz bottles at 6 weeks.

Our ped always said between 24-30 oz of formula. DS ate 5 6.5 oz bottles at 6 weeks.
Our ped said about hte same between 24-36 oz a day!

Is it totally awful that I have no idea. He eats on demand and is gaining weight well so I can't even say.
However he generally eats 3 -4 oz every 2 hours during the day and a 5 oz bottle overnight so I'd estimate about 30 oz in a 24 hour period???
Formula is more filling so that fact that he's eating less is fine.
