Re: How many ounces should a 2 month old be drinking??
My DS, who is 6 wks, takes 5 1/2 every 3 or 4 hours during the day and his last feeding he can take about 6. He sleeps through the night. The doctor says that its hard to overfeed a newborn, they are still on a feed them when they are hungry schedule. It also depends on there weight.

My DS was drinking i think 4 oz every 3 hours. And he would want more at times. I say if she wants more, give it.

Re: How many ounces should a 2 month old be drinking??
Kristina flipped from a 3 oz bottle to a 4 oz bottle about 2 weeks ago at 5 weeks of age... then a week later - the 3 oz bottles weren't doing it anymore so we had to go to 5 oz in a sitting.... There are times that she is still hungry, so I keep breastmilk on the door as well as some formula prepped in her pitcher that i can quickly pour out in a bottle....
I say.... if she's hungry - feed her!

If your baby is hungry try more. DS was about 7 oz every 3 hours at 8 weeks.
our ped said she doesnt look at the individual bottle amount by the 24 hour # of oz which should be maximum 36 oz (PS ds was on 40oz at 10 weeks, but then started sleeping through the night and is now down to about 32 oz)
Just listen to your gut and your baby!

Im having the same problem.
If I am giving DS rice for reflux does it change the amount of formula I give him?

Dont worry so much about a #. If your DS seems more hungry, increase his formula slowly. If you see he spits up alot after a feedng, then decrease alittle.
And track his behavior over a week or so, we found DS had a bad bottle around 6pm and would spit up alot. So we decreased that bottle to 4 oz. Your baby will let you know.
My ped told me not to exceed 36 oz a day, I told her to talk to the little one about that and if he agreed I would do that. Well for about a month he took over 40 oz and then he lowered himself by skipping bottles to nap and sleeping through the night.

Re: How many ounces should a 2 month old be drinking??
I read babies need 2 to 2.5 ounces per pound. This is a guideline, not something you need to strictly follow. I know some days DS wants more, some days he wants less.
I've heard don't pass 35-36 ounces too.
