How many pizzas would you order

DD is having her birthday party at a place. They supply the food for the kids. I have to supply the food for the adults, so I'm ordering pizzas.

There are 17 kids coming, no way of knowing if both their parents are coming with them, but I would assume just one.

How many do you think?

Do you have to order them ahead? I'd have them cut the kid pie into 12 slices and get 2 pies for them.

Ask the parents who is having, this way you don't wind up with a lot of extra.

I think is also matters what time the party is, is it more or a "snack"for the adults or a mealtime.

I agree, that is 2 slices for 17 people seems good, some won't have 2 but if both parents come you have enough.

Re: How many pizzas would you order

Last year I probably order 5 and had tons of leftovers. This year I'm ordering 0 for adults. Party is 3-430 so I'll get veggie tray, chips, maybe a box of joe.

Wow people must eat a lot - 2 years ago we ordered 4 pizzas for the adults per suggestions on here - and we went home with 2.5 pies.

Last year we did the party at Nunleys and they give 4 pizzas in the price (they cut the kids ones into 16 slices and say the kids go thru 2-3 pies. We ordered 1 extra pie and there was 1/2 a pizza left at the end of the party.

We had 15 children the 1st party and 25 kids the second party. I find that most partys that we go to the parents rarely eat at all - most only have a drink or split a slice of pizza.
