how many strollers is too many?

I registered for the snap & go for the car seat to go in, the city mini for an "everyday" regular stroller and the baby jogger summit because I want a jogging stroller. my MIL offered to get us the jogger, which was super nice of her, but I'm thinking 3 strollers is a bit too many. Thoughts?

I would think 3 is overkill just to start with.

In reality, in the beginning, you need only a snap and go with the carseat or some sort of travel system like that. The City Mini can do just that as well with a carseat adapter, so that could replace the snap and go, or you can use the City Mini as a toddler stroller, which again won't be needed until later. Same with the jogger.

Of course if people buy them for you, that's fine, but I think that realistically you're not going to use/need the City Mini or the jogger until much later, so it might be smart just to wait til you need them. I know a lot of people who got too many strollers to start with and ended up hating them/not using them for whatever reason.

I personally have only registered for the City Select and car seat. No snap and go, nothing else. I will wait and see if/when we need anything else.

I agree, I think 3 is overkill too... it's just so hard to know (being a FTM) what system will work best for me.

Re: how many strollers is too many?

We got the uppababy cruz which has a seat that comes out completely and you could use the frame as a snap no go, essentially (with a car seat adapter). We also got an umbrella stroller since it's so light weight and convenient. So, technically we have TWO strollers, but one of them converts to a snap n go so it's sorta like three.

We weren't planning on getting the umbrella stroller just yet but we went to the BBB event this morning and the 20% off included uppababy, which is NEVER included, so figure may as well get it today.

we just did the city mini with a carseat adapter and an umbrella stroller. we did get a snap and go too but returned it right away when we realized we didnt need it. we used the city mini with the adapter for about 6-8m (DD was a preemie and pretty smaller), then the regular city mini, and around 18m started using the umbrella more. i dont think you need 3 if you are getting the city mini - i would get the adapter and not use the snap-n-go - the city mini is so light you dont really need the snap-n-go

I am a btdt mom preggo with baby #2 and for our first we were given a snap and go as well as a lightweight umbrella stroller (inglesina). Over time I ended up buying a city mini and also picked up a jogging stroller off of craigslist. i am a runner so the jogger has definitely come in handy (but wasn't running when I was preggo with dc #1). we use the city mini as our main stroller (big walkers and it is definitely awesome on sidewalks) with the inglesina as our travel stroller. in hindsight i would have registered for the city mini with the adapter since the adapter is a similar cost as the snap and go anyway but i didn't anticipate buying the city mini. we use the inglesina for our travel stroller or if we are going to be in a place where we want the stroller to close up in a slimmer fashion than the city mini.

hope this helps a little bit so hard to know in advance!

Not overkill. That's what I have and use/used. It's not like it's 3 of the same, they all serve different purposes and are used at different times.

I registered for the Snap N Go and a Graco Metrolite when I had DS. As he got older we bought an umbrella stroller and a jogging stroller. So we had 4 by the time he was 18 months old.

I agree, I have the travel system stroller that fits with the car seat (will be the primary stroller), we have a jogging stroller (even though I told DH not to put it on the registry because we wouldn't need it for a long time, he really wanted it & someone got it for us), and this really thin lightweight umbrella stroller that weighs like 2 pounds that my mom gave me. The jogger & the umbrella stroller probably won't get much use for the first 6+ months but it's okay because I know we'll definitely use them at some point.

i'm on baby number 3, as a BTDT mom...no, not too many at all. Strollers all serve different purposes. I have a snap and go, an aria (my everyday), plus a bob revolution. Go for it. You will use them all at different times, but they will all get used

Re: how many strollers is too many?

great feedback :) my original thought process was also that they all serve different purposes but I wasn't sure if there was a way to "consolidate" them without feeling like I'm missing something. we still have plenty of time to mull
it over but it's helpful to see what works for others!!

I don't think it's overkill. I registered and received the Uppa Vista, City Mini, and snap and go. I can't wait to use them all.

My first reaction was yes it's overkill... But that's bc I can't afford to have 3 strollers lol... I agree with the ladies, they would all serve a different purpose and if u can afford it, then why not Chat Icon

We have 3. The travel system was great for us but we also needed another small stroller for the 2nd car since we wouldn't remember to take a stroller from one car and switch. But we run, so we needed a jogger, too.

I am getting the uppababy cruz (me) and a graco metrolite stroller (for husband's car). They both can be used with an infant seat.

The city mini does have an adapter for the infant carseat and I used that for long walks, but I think the snap and go is just so convenient to keep in your trunk for errands and appointments. The basket underneath is much better than the city mini and its just so light. I also had some trouble snapping the carseat into the baby jogger so it would have been annoying to do all the time. I don't think 3 is too many!

Re: how many strollers is too many?

It isn't overkill....DS is 1 1/2 and I registered for the same three strollers. I had the snap n go, citi mini, and bob jogging stroller. The snap n go I used all the time - until 9 months or so - I loved it!!! I liked it better than the citi mini, it's lighter, easy to close, has a bigger basket, and takes up less trunk space than the citi mini when folded. We started using the citi mini when he grew out of the snap n go and now that is our everyday stroller, we use it all the time. If you are a big runner then you need a real jogging stroller - the citi mini is not a jogging stroller. The wheels on a jogger are much bigger and its better for all terrains - however it is too big (for me anyway) to use as an everyday stroller. If you just want to go for casual runs around the neighborhood you might be able to get away with the citi mini but for someone who runs multiple days a week, on different terrains and runs in races you need something else. HTH!

Re: how many strollers is too many?

Not overkill. At some point we'll have 3 strollers, just not now.

We did the city select with the car seat adapter instead of the snap and go. (I couldn't justify getting something for only 6 months or so that would be taking up space after that). At some point we'll probably also get an umbrella stroller and a jogger. They would both just take up unnecessary room right now which is why we didn't register for anything other then the city select.

the snap and go felt flimsy to me so i returned it. I got the uppababy vista and city mini and i had the carseat adaptors for both. that worked out awesome. I eventually also got an umbrella stroller for vacations.

The only thing I will say is take storage room into consideration. Where will you store 3 strollers? We have 2 (snap and go and city mini), and granted, we live in an apt, but they take up a lot of space. Plus, the swing, bouner, jumper, toys, etc. As the baby grows so does the amount of space you need for him/her and all their stuff!

Don't get the city mini. The basket underneath is way too small. You don't needa jogging stroller plus the city mini
