How many tabs do you typically have open in your web browser?
In general, how many tabs do you have open?
I'm in that last category, where I think the browser is going to start yelling at me to close a few dozen tabs so it can keep working... 
I actually use the tabs that I have open, so it's not like most of them are just abandoned.

At work - 3 or 4.
On my phone though, where I do most of my surfing - I'm always maxing out! So I chose that option

right now - 3 on my "work" browser, 4 on the incognito one .
Then my e-mail is open, main system is open, I think I've got a spreadsheet or two open as well.

Usually 3-5 at once, sometimes more depending on what I am doing. Online shopping I have SO many open because I am always zipping around comparing prices.

There is no theoretical maximum. It all depends on what OS you have, how much memory, etc. I've seen postings on-line (in another tab, of course.. ) of people who have had several hundred tabs, and even a few thousand (just to see if they could).

Usually around 15-20 on both my phone and my computer. Sometimes more on my phone because I can't see easily how many I have open!

Which browser?
I use an online program for work to access client info. Each tab is a different client. So 20 is easy.
I keep another one open for access to insurance websites to access data so that opens like 5 to 8 and they open their own windows for PDFs or sub data links (up to 3 on each) so that can grow to 15 to 20 easily.
I keep a third open for minimized crap like LIF, CNN and login/out for day stuff which keeps about 3-5 tabs but is on and off all day and generally only operational about a total of an hour or so a day, unless I forget to close it.
There's also spin off pop up windows created by the first program which keeps about 10 windows open but not in a browser, but created by the ones in the browser.
Doesn't even start on the new system we use for client data, word, excel or open email I keep up. LOL
