Re: How many times a year...

We get 6 paid days a year. I normally take 0-1 a year b/c for me it is such a pain to call in sick. I need to call in at least a hour before my shift and for me that is around 430-5am so I never get up in time to call in.

But it is really nice getting an extra 48 hrs in one paycheck at the end of my year (my happens to be in march). We can also use it up in hours so if I leave early I can use some sick time so I dont lose hours for the week.

I usually don't call in unless I'm really sick. We get paid out our unused sick time at the end of the year. Last year I used none but this year I've already used 3 and I really shouldn't even be here today. Oh, well. Chat Icon

I NEVER call in sick unless I am near death. Yes I am one of those people that come in and spread germs. They tell me to go home but then they bi atch if something isnt done. At this place you are damned if you do and damned if you dont.

I'm the same exact way!

Re: How many times a year...

Usually just a few, but last year I called in sick about 6 times, b/c I was interviewing for a new job and didn't always know well enough in advance to take a vacation day.

If I have a fever I will always stay home.

Re: How many times a year...

My last job I got 10 sick days a year and I took all 10. Usually sick, but when I was in grad school I used sick days for midterms/finals...

Re: How many times a year...

We are alotted six sick days a year. There is no incentive not to take them (i.e. if you don't use them, you lose them). Maybe it's because of the way the company treats us but I don't work for free so I take all six during the year. I'm so not like that with anything else about my job, always go above and beyond, but this is the one thing that I do take full advantage of.
