Re: how many weeks will you when you take child birth class?
My mom likes to tell the story of how she went at 34 weeks for her first class... and then had me before the second class.
She says they spent the entire first class (this was in 1979, mind you) talking about how painful childbirth was... and that she had me in two pushes and it was no big deal (hope I inherit that!) -- so she went back to the second class with in her arms and told them not to scare everyone so much.
Sorry I can't say whether that's later or not -- I know the info my OB gave me said to sign up for them around your 14th week to take around week 30 but that does seem a little early to me.

Re: how many weeks will you be when you take child birth class?
I took them kind of early...around 25 weeks b/c I had called to set up Lamaze and they needed a fill in for the weekend class. I saved like $50 by doing it then. Anyway, the best time to do it is in the beginning of your 3rd trimester. 29 weeks to 33 weeks is probably a good range. BUT if you are signed up to take it later, it shouldn't be a big deal unless you are at risk to go early.

When I called my hospital to schedule my class, the lady told me I should do it before August (I'm due Sept 1). You might be cutting it a little close, but if that's when the class is, you may not have a choice! I'll be 30.5 weeks when we take our class.

I never took a class. I just went with instinct. Apparently my instinct was pretty good

Re: how many weeks will you be when you take child birth class?
I took mine really early (25wks) because I am having twins and they wanted to be careful, in case I had to go on bedrest or something. There were a lot of girls in my class who were much further along. There was even one girl who was 39wks! She ended up leaving early because she was too exhausted to stay (it was a full day class 9-5).

Re: how many weeks will you be when you take child birth class?
We took ours on Sunday and I went into labor on Monday. I was 37 weeks. I had no time to digest the information or practice what they taught us. Needless to say I was begging for the epidural at 3 cm!
