Disability Pay Question (After the birth of your child)

So I thought I get six weeks of disaiblity pay through NYS. I received 4 weeks in one lump sum, then received a check for 1 week, then nothing. So I called them and they said the policy has a 1 week waiting period, so I only get paid for 5 weeks. He said I get 6 weeks off, paid for 5 (although I really get like four months off). Is this how it was with everyone else too?

It was the same for me. I wonder why they don't just say 6 weeks off with 5 paid. Chat Icon

Very true. I called when my 2nd child was born to make sure they didn't owe me another check, and they didn't.
They pay you a total, after taxes of $760 (I think that is right-more or less).
