How much did you spend on your Glider/Ottoman?

Ok. I must be turning into the biggest cheap-o alive!! DH and I have been searching for a Glider/Ottoman and I can't seem to find one that I like that's less than like $700! Did you ladies all spend that much? If you got a good deal, can you post a pic of yours and where you got it?

I ended up registering for one from BRU for $299 that includes the glider and ottoman. I liked that this one had a locking mechanism, so tiny fingers can't get caught when my LO is a curious crawler.

I liked a lot that were in the $400-700 range, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

$40 on Craig's List -- didn't come with an ottoman, but I registered for a nursing stool that I think will work fine. I just wanted one with a locking device I could put on if I felt safer with it on, and this had it. It's definitely not the best piece of furniture ever, but I think it will suit our needs well enough. We also have a lay-z--boy rocker/recliner already (that I got many years ago on CL for $50!) that will be useful too.

I am the biggest bargain hunter, so I feel your pain on the expenses of gliders! Let me first say that LUCKILY my wonderful FIL wanted to give us a nice glider as a present since he knew I'd be spending a lot of time in it with . Second, know what you want and look for it ON SALE. We wanted the Newco Serenity Classical Non-Swivel glider/ottoman...but we wanted it made with brown microfiber instead of the regular material that BRU uses (microfiber is the easiet material ever to clean up!). Together, with tax and shipping, it's usually over $600 . I checked everyday on various websites to wait for a sale. I found it on BRU one day for $25 off and free shipping--so we saved $200! It's still expensive, but we are so so so happy with it. We can't wait until comes and I can sit with her in it!!

$40 on CL with ottoman. Its white & it had blue (denim type) cushions. I recovered it with fabric I picked up at Joanns Fabrics.

We actually did spend that much but honestly it was worth EVERY penny. I use it every single night! We did however get to use a 20% coupon for each the chair and the ottomon so we got money back.

I wasnt going to get one due to the fact they are SO expensive but luckily one of the mothers where i work gave me hers for FREE! Its in great coniditon to so i just lucked out/ :)

I believe we only spent around $85-$100 for ours? We got it on sale and had a coupon. Got it at BRU. I also didn't get the ottoman but got a nursing stool instead... The ottoman kept my legs parallel to the glider seat and that was so uncomfortable. The nursing stool is wonderful to use.

I think I paid around $600 for mine...yes it's expensive and I can't believe I paid that (got it from behrs) but I know I will be spending my nights in that thing. And to be honest I sat in my friends chair once and hated it. It was too narrow and upright.
I would rather pay the money for one I found to be comfortable than pay less...get it home and find out that it's not comfortable.

Ours was about $700 I think - expensive, but looks like a real piece of upolstured furniture - not like a nursery ottoman - and SO comfortable .......

it's also a recliner.
Worth it to me - We use it all the time.

If you happen to know someone that is a member of Direct Buy, you can get them cheaper there...that's what we did. It wasn't overly cheap, but definitely cheaper than getting it at BBB...

We got one fo the sets from BRU...it was about $200 and I have been using it for 19 months and it is still just as good as day 1!

ETA: I have the one that Maybaby21 posted the pic of.....wait until you get a 20% off coupon!

I bought my sister a MINT Dutalier glider w/ottoman on CL for $40...it seriously looked brand new, not a scratch or stain on it.

CL is worth a look, especially since they can be so $$ and a lot of people say they never end up using it.

I LOVE that style!!! I actually bought one from someone on the boards for a great price but it doesn't fit through the nursery door!! It's at my parents' house for when they babysit. I didn't think they ever went on sale, I'm going to keep my eyes open. Thanks!!

Yes, I spent in that range...actually a few hundred more. It's something my child will always have in his/her room. I got this one in a solid, neutral soft fabric.

My cousin got me one for my shower I had registered for at Target. It was $200 and I love it! I was not spending (or letting anyone else) spend more money than that for something I wont use once he is bigger.

Lurking here My mom bought ours in Nov 2008 (couple months before DS was born) at BRU. It was a day after thanksgiving sale. It was $150 for glider and ottoman. I think you can also get them cheap at Walmart or target. I don't know how good they are.
