Re: How much did you spend on your wedding (POLL)Are you still paying it off?

DH and I agreed two things before our wedding- 1- No debt from the wedding, we would only do what we could afford and 2- if we were splurging on anything, it was the honeymoon. Everything, including the HM, was paid in cash so we had no debt!!

My wedding was wonderful- everything I wanted, and it was done in a budget. Everythnig that was important to me cost nothing- which was the gathering of the important people to us and the ceremony itself and havign the rabbi who married my parents and my rabbi all my life marry me.

Our wedding, including HM and rings etc. was over 60k. My parents gave us about 15k. we went into our wedding day wedding debt free. We also agreed we wouldnt do anything we couldnt pay for in full, in cash, but we did have almost a 2 year engagement for that reason alone and I am happy we did. we got back around 35k, about 215 guests

We paid over 50,000 for ours. Dh and I paid for everything ourselves. I am still so proud of how we did this at 26 years old, just starting out in our careers! We didn't charge anything. Everything was paid in cash. We started saving for it when we were 24 and we pulled it off! So, I do not owe anything. We got about 20 something back and spent it ALL on the down payment/ closing of our condo! So now, we are back to saving again.
I could have had a much cheaper wedding, but Flowerfield was WORTH EVERY PENNY. We only had 145 guests (I think). I dont regret spending any of it.

We paid for everything and got back half. We paid it all off before the wedding which was VERY helpful. Chat Icon

We were fortunate that my parents paid for our wedding and inlaws contributed a generous amount as well. We have no debt..had a nice savings prior to the wedding and we made a really really nice amount from our wedding.

We're still paying off the HM. My Mom paid for the wedding.

I honestly don't know the final numbers - I stopped keeping track once it went over our $30k budget (we treated ourselves very well for our honeymoon). Chat Icon

However, we were paid in full before our wedding day - we paid everything on a credit card to get travel points and the bill's were paid in full every month from the money we had in our joint acct.

We spent over $50,000 but nopt much of it was out of pocket. My parents covered the hall, which was the bulk of everything. DH's parents gave us $10,000 which covered the photo/video, band and RD. We payed for the rest, which was probably only another $5000. And then the HM was extra.

My parents paid for everything but I had a very small wedding. I don't know what we "got back" but I didn't care because we really didn't pay for any of it.

If my parents had not paid for it, we would have thrown a small destination wedding. I have a lot of student loan debt and there was just no way I was going to add onto that. Also, I was 32 when we got engaged. I was not willing to wait to get married so that we could save for a big wedding.

We spent about $15k, including HM. Made back about $20k. Used cash for spending on the HM. Paid off our credit cards with $ we rcvd. from the wedding. Because we paid off our credit cards, we were able to get a mortgage loan and that's how we bought our house 9 months after the wedding!

Re: How much did you spend on your wedding (POLL)Are you still paying it off?

We have been married almost 13 years so everything was much cheaper. My parents paid for everything and we saved for our furniture and honeymoon.
The price of everything my parents paid for (including the shower) was $17,000.
We got back $7,000. We put half into our savings account (which easily got spend on things) and half into an account when we were to buy a house.
