how much do you let DC drink before burping?
DS is just about 6 weeks and was wondering what you do/did.
I usually try to burp him every ounce but have been trying to go a bit longer but sometimes I feel like I let DS drink too much before burping and fear he will vomit.
The other problem is if he is nearing the end of his bottle and I stop him to burp he gets too tired/falls asleep on my shoulder and wont finish.

at that age he drank half the bottle then burped.

wow really?  oh boy - maybe this is why I feel like it takes forever to finish a bottle and he is only drinking 4-5 oz a feeding

DD is 7 weeks old tomorrow, she is drinking 3-4 ounces. I burp her when she starts wiggling around and shows signs she is uncomfortable. Sometimes she'll take the bottle back, other times she'll fall asleep. But I don't take the bottle away from her to burp after a certain amount of ounces, she'll scream at me.

thanks! DS doesnt scream but recently he started moving around a lot wen i try to burp him and makes it hard. So maybe I should try letting him drink more at one time.

thanks! DS doesnt scream but recently he started moving around a lot wen i try to burp him and makes it hard. So maybe I should try letting him drink more at one time.
If he does need to burp, try putting a pacifier in his mouth while he's trying to burp. It seems to 'pacify' DD while she's waiting to burp, then eat again.

same  JJ takes 6 ounces, we burp him at 3 and then when he is done.
when he was taking 4, i also burped him at 2 and then when he was done

another burping tidbit that i actually learned from summerlyn at my newborn shoot (thanks summer)
burp him by holding him over your shoulder and applying firm pressure in an upward motion from his waist to his shoulders. works every time!! (its a good amount of pressure, not enough to make him puke but enough to press on his belly to release the burp)
