holy crappers - ours is $1700! We got quotes from a bunch of places and most were over $2K!
Our mortgage broker said Suffolk is higher for some reason. What a rip.
Mine is higher than most on the boards here and I wonder why. Most of the other quotes I got were over $2K too. I'm in Nassau and my house is brick and 80 years old! I can't figure it out.
Yours shouldnt be..you are in the town of Oyster bay and In nassau.
Yes, take all into consideration..not all offer the same. A bank can also make you take more coverage than needed which also increases premium.
your deductable also affects this.
I know when we were looking one company wanted to cover the full purchase price of the house. but I shopped around b/c to build a brand new house would not cost as much as the purchase price of our home. You have to take the value of the actual land into consideration....

It's not based on the purchase price. It's based on what it would cost to rebuild.
I think it's a $1000 deductible.
Something isn't right.
