How much do you spend on birthday party gifts?
Ryan has a few parties coming up - not sure what's appropriate.
For friends, not family...

Depends on the friend. Some I can talk to and we have come to agreements (we usually make it in the $20-$30 range to be fair), some I have learned from what they have given DS and given accordingly.

For friends, about $30 - 35. For family, we will buy a gift (we don't necessarily go in with a limit) that the recipient wants/needs.

See, for MY best friend if she had a kid that's what I would spend.
and, a closer friend recently had a b-day for her DS and I spent more than usual. So I have to say it depends on how close I am, and what I can give at the time.

Depends on how many kids I'm shopping for and how many parties I have to attend.
Late September to early October is crazy birthday time for me. One of my friends had a party for 3 of her kids at once!  I had to keep it down to $20-$25 even though I used spend more per child.
Normally I spend $30-$50 if it's only one child at a time.
