How much do you think people lie...
on this forum? How do you think people embellish the details of their lifestyles... what kinds of cars they drive, what kind of house they live in, clothes they wear, etc etc to make them seem more well-off than they really are?
DH thinks I'm naive because I tend to believe everyone...
I'm adding a poll so you can anonymously admit if you have EVER embellished a detail or two of your life on this board  Let's see how honest we all are...

I agree, but remember a whole scam on LIW??? 
People do it for lots of reasons. Mostly, though, they are unhappy with their own lives that they need to lie.

Im always honest because I guess I dont know too many people well enough to lie or want to impress them if that makes sense.
But there is a person I see post , not so often more on LIW that I swear if this person is not embellishing then they are the most stuck up person ever. Every other word is about how expensive this trip was, or this event etc, and I think thats TACKY.

i agree. i mean, I'm not naive to it-- i definitely think people do it... i just don't see what the point Is?

Honestly, I was gonna lie & on the turning 30 thread & say I was turning 60 this year, but that was just to see if anyone would notice/believe me.
I think the worst of everyone all the time, so I'm sure people, but personally I prefer to not disclose details, instead of lying.

Nope, and I cant see why anyone would since Im sure many of you like I have made some good friends on here and from LIW that we see and hang out with.
I guess I can see the other side that b/c it is a forum and strangers you could lie, but you know as I have learned too, LI is a small world!!!

Well - we all know that there are/were some posters over on LIW that were full out liars, but in terms of real posters who are lying or embellishing? I don't know. I don't think it would make any sense, but I'm sure there are some really insecure people out there who do it.

Nope. I have been totally honest. No reason to lie IMO. I don't care that much what people think one way or the other. I also tend to believe most of what people say and I think people who stretch the truth tend to stand out.
