We usually give the mailman $20 in cash and the 3 garbage men each a case of beer.

Last year we gave the mailman $40 - we get a lot of mail and pkgs. And we tipped the 3 garbage men, $40 each as well.

Re: How Much do You tip Mailman-Garbageman at the Holidays?
$20 for the mailman and $10 each for the garbagemen plus a bottle of wine.
If we see the UPS guy we'll give him a $20 also because I get a million boxes delivered during the holidays (I love my online shopping ).

Re: How Much do You tip Mailman-Garbageman at the Holidays?
$20 for the mailman and nothing for the garbageman (I am too worried someone would steal the money off the garbage cans)

Re: How Much do You tip Mailman-Garbageman at the Holidays?
We always debate tipping the mail carrier (we have major issues with mail in my town). Besides, I have a friend that works for the postal service, and it's actually against their policy for mail carriers to accept cash tips.
I don't tip the garbargemen though. We pay a monthly fee for garbage pickup as it is.

Re: How Much do You tip Mailman-Garbageman at the Holidays?
Legally the mailman isn't allowed to take cash, so we give an ornament.
Nothing for the garbage man, they have the asutomatic trucks that have a mechanical arm to grab the trash can and dump it in the truck. so the guy never gets out of the truck.

LOL, same here! I don't know if I should run out and give him something? For all I know-it could be a her!
I am going to tip the mail lady and the UPS and FedEx guys though. I guess about $20.

Re: How Much do You tip Mailman-Garbageman at the Holidays?
We're always so broke around the holidays that we've never tipped. But this year we're planning on $20 for the mailman and $40 for the garbage man.

Re: How Much do You tip Mailman-Garbageman at the Holidays?
I'm assuming our mailman is looking for a tip because last Friday he left us a holiday postcard introducing himself as our mailman. Hmm....was this a hint Mr. Postman.

They can get into alot of trouble for soliciting tips.
Postal Carriers are not allowed to accept cash tips. They are allowed however to accept gift cards for no more than $20

Re: How Much do You tip Mailman-Garbageman at the Holidays?
We tip the mailman $40. We send a lot of mail b/c I work from home. My Grandfather was a mailman, and frankly those tips were always extremely important to help the family.
We tip the garbagemen $20 each. We throw them a few bucks throughout the year when we have a ton of stuff to be picked up from house renovations, etc. After paying a fortune for a dumpster, this is some of the best $ we spend all year.

The mailman and garbage men both make more money than me I don't tip them.
