How much does/did your DC eat at 3 months?

Christopher is 3 months old and eats just 4oz every 3 hours on the nose. He has been eating this much since he was about 3 weeks old. I tried giving him 6oz and he would eat just 4, then I tried 5oz and he would eat that, but then at the next feeding only eat 3

At his last dr's appointment he was in the 50th percentile for both height and weight, but he is still wearing NB clothes. He *looks* like he is getting bigger, but I am concerned he isn't eating enough even though he doesn't want anymore.

Anyone feel the same way?

At that age, DD was eating 6 oz every 2.5 - 3 hours....

Is he formula feeding? Have you switched the nipples. When I went to the level two nipple she started eating 7 ounces instead of 5. She was getting so frustrated before. Now she eats more formula more quickly and a little less often.

My DS started to drink more when I switched him to the next nipple. And his feeding were more spread out which was great for me! A little before 3 months I switched him and he started drinking between 6-8 ounces every 4-5 hours!

----when you 1st change the nipple it might take a little while for him to get used to it...it took my DS a few feedings...just giving you a heads up because my DS was messy with it the 1st few days and my MIL was freaking out that he was going to choke!-----

Yes, he is formula fed. He gets a Stage 2 nipple on both the Avents and the VentAires. Do you think I should go up to the next one? Is there a next one?

Does he gulp when he eats? How long does it take him to finish a bottle?

Noah eats 5 -5 & 1/2 oz's about 5 times a day. And sometimes wants more, but he will spit up if I give him anymore. He wants it about every 3-4 hours, usually its about 3 1/2 hours inbetween- 4.

He is 11 lbs now at 8 weeks.

i would say give him another week or two and if hes stilleating that much, maybe mention to the ped hes not eating as much as you expected?

Noah is 50% on weight ( perccentile)

You don't want to know how much my DS eats. At 5 weeks he has 6ozs every three hours - and now the ped told us to start putting cereal in his bottles.

Interesting...DS was 50% at 11 weeks and 11lbs.....do you think there are different "percentiles"?

He doesn't really glup when he eats, sometimes if the bottle is out of the fridge he does, but that is rare and usually when I am at someones house.

You don't want to know how much my DS eats. At 5 weeks he has 6ozs every three hours - and now the ped told us to start putting cereal in his bottles.

But I agree with Donna that he gets to wear all the fun clothes now.

DS is 10 weeks and eats 3.5 oz every 3 hours. (yes, .5 ounces...it's so fun at 4am when you are blind)

He was TINY at birth and has to be increased at .5 oz. increments to avoid vomiting. He moved up to 3.5 oz. at 6 weeks. The dr. said as long as he's growing properly (maintaining his percentile or going up), it's fine. Tonight I tried to give him 4 and he stopped on his own and refused the last .5 oz. He hasn't been getting hungry sooner, I just thought I would try. I'm a little shocked, but hey, the formula lasts longer!

DS was born in the 5th percentile for weight, he is now in the 25th (as of last Monday). They aern't concerned with how much food he eats as he's growing nicely. He is also still in NB and 0-3 as well.

Emma has been taking 6 ounces every 3 hours since she was about 2.5 mos IIFC. I tried to give her 8 to stretch it out to at least every 4 hours, but she spits a lot of it up.

When Ainsley takes formula, she has 5 ounces - she takes around 2 bottles a day - otherwise she breastfeeds. She weighed 10.8 ounces at 9 weeks - she's a little over 3 months - wont get weighed til her 4 month visit. she was in the 25th percentile.

we are eating 7-8 ounces every 4-4 1/2 hours..........
