How much does your 8-9 month old nap?

The reason I'm asking is bc, DD takes a good 1.5-2 hour nap in the AM around 8-830ish and then again about an 1hr-1.5hr nap in the afternoon at around 1:00-1:30ish...but I feel like by 4:30 she's tired again but we start putting her down at 6:30...so just wondering what your schedules look like!

Thanks!!

Usually she takes a 1-2 hour nap in the morning and again in the afternoon. But depending on what's going on, sometimes she takes more frequent, but shorter naps. The morning one usually sticks, but the afternoon one is flexible. (If we are in the car for a lot of the afternoon, she tends to take a lot of shorter naps.)

Re: How much does your 8-9 month old nap?

Here is teh boys schedule. Since my babysitter left I have tried to get them on a set schedule. This what we have been doing:

8AM-wake bottle
9:30 breakfast
10-10:15 NAP
WAKE 12-12:15 Bottle
1:30 lunch
2:00-2:15 NAP
WAKE 4PM Bottle
5PM Dinner
6:45-7:15 BED

What time does L wake up? I think she may be getting up too early OR need 3 naps still

DS usually takes 2 naps during the day. He is up for the day by 7:30 am. His morning nap is around 10-10:30 am and afternoon nap around 3:30-4 pm. Both are usually about 1.5 to 2 hrs. His bedtime is usually 9pm (bedtime routine starts about 8:15 or 8:30pm)

2 naps. One at around 10:00 and another around 2:00. DS goes to bed between 7:30-8.

nah thats perfect though jen, at this age i think they still need to technically get some sort of nap in every 2-3 hours of awake time.
Mila wakes up at 645-7, and will nap at 845 ish

Yah Jaime she does sleep for 12 hours so that prob isn't the problem....the thing is look now she's still sleeping so she'll be good I think for tonight, but other days she'll wake up earlier and get tired at 4 and then she'll sleep until 5 and screw her nighttime schedule up...

If she sleeps until 5 put her down a bit later like 7:15-thats what I started doing with mine. They have been sleeping through the night for a while now. Also-if they wake up at 6 I feed them and put them back to sleep. Mama doesn't get up before 7:30 and I think they are learning thatChat Icon

I don't think Chels would go back thats the problem, she's very UP when she wakes up in the morning!!

But I'll try that, but she is going on 2 hrs now so I doubt she'll get a third nap today, but just on some days that she does, I'll def just put her down later and get that third nap in!

Thanks!!!Chat Icon

Chat Icon So is Ronan-I don't careChat Icon He has some things in his crib(an elephant that plays music, a soft book with flaps and a lovey and he entertains himself for a while and almost always falls back asleep. The only issue I have is they sometimes sleep too late and mess up my whole schedule for them! R slept until 9:45 the other dayChat Icon

Re: How much does your 8-9 month old nap?

Thats pretty much the same schedule we have but they take the AM nap at 9.

I used to do a 3rd nap around 4ish, but then they wouldn't go to sleep, so they are up from 2 or 3 until 7pm. They do start to look tired, but it seems to work. I've tried several times to put them back down - one time Mady took a nap around 4:30 and slept until 6. That didn't work out too well. Jonah cried for an hour.

ETA: they wake up between 7-8. Jonah often wakes up before that - at 5 or 6, so I will feed him and then put him back down - he almost always falls back asleep. Sometimes I will take him into bed with me.

Liam (he's only 7.5 mos) takes about 1 hour nap at 9AMish and a 1-1.5 hour nap at around 2PMish. He goes down at 730PM at night.

Re: How much does your 8-9 month old nap?

9+ mths...

wakes around 8am
naps around 10:30-11:30 for about 1 to 2.5 hrs

Naps again in the pm, b/w 500-700 for about 1 hr.

Goes to bed late...sleeping by 10-1030pm (I like to sleep later so she is on my schedule).

Re: How much does your 8-9 month old nap?

DS tends to take longer and/or more frequent naps at home than at daycare. At daycare, he takes 2 naps per day. They're rarely more than 30-45 minutes.

DS wakes up between 7-8. He usually takes his first name around 9:30-10 which is about 1.5-2 hours long. He will not take another nap until around 2:30-3 and that is usually only a half hour nap. We put him to bed by 7:30.
