How much formula for 2-3 month old?
We're just introducing formula, she's been EBF up until now. How much formula is/did your baby eat at around 2-3 months old, and how often did he/she eat?

Yes, but he was not helpful unfortunately. He tried to guilt me into continuing BF (which I would love to do and would do in a heartbeat if I didn't have to go back to work in a week).

DS drinks 5 oz every 3-3 1/2 hours, and has a bottle 5 times a day.

My DS took 4oz every 3 hours from about 3 weeks old until he was 4 months old. Now he has between 4 and 6oz every 3 hours or so at 4.5 months.

Yes, totally not helpful. What's the point if you decided to stop BF. So now YOU have to figure it out.
I think it's about 25 oz per day with a range of 19-30 oz (depending on the child)
So you would need to divide 25 oz (usually "24" is easier for calculation) by the number of feedings. If DC eats every 3 hours, that would be 8 bottles of 3 oz. If DC eats every 4 hours, it's six bottles of 4 oz.
Of course it depends how much DC eats but that's approx.

I'm pumping exclusively (she latches once a day..my doing) & she drinks 4.5 oz. every 2-3 hours, except at night when she'll sleep for 6 hours.
I'd just try, she'll spit up if she's getting too much

DS is 11 1/2 wks old and drinks between 5 and 6 oz of formula, 5-6 times per day. Sometimes he drinks up to 7 oz but that is usually only if he's been sleeping a really long time.

Thanks for all the replies & info ladies. Yes, my doc was definitely NOT helpful, thankfully we see another in the practice at her next appt. that we'll hopefully switch to.
