How much is a home appraisal?
We want to refi I am assuming you need an appraisal right?

Ours was $350 (we appraised for purchase, not refi..don't know if there is a difference)

We had an appriasal done for our re-fi and it was included in our closing costs, maybe $275.

Before you do this, find out from your bank who they use for their appraisals. You have to use a bank approved appraisal company.

Usually the bank that you are refinancing with will order the appraisal for you.
We had one done with Wells Fargo last year - I think it was around $750. We are refinancing now with TeachersFCU and I think they charge around $275 (which you only have to pay if you go through with the loan - unlike most banks where you pay the fee upfront!)
