how much is everyones oil bill a month?
Just trying to figure out what to budget. do you think 300 a month is enough/too much??
We work all day, so heat will prob be on 62 during day and 68 to 70 depending on weather during the evening, then down again to 62--65 during sleep time.

Well I get COD oil and a separate contract which worked out to be a LOT cheaper for us. You should look into that.

we have ours on a budget plan. We pay $300 a month for a 2400 sq ft house. While we're out or at work, it's usually on 63. While we're home its on 67. At night... 65.

Well I get COD oil and a separate contract which worked out to be a LOT cheaper for us. You should look into that.

It completely depends upon the size of the house and the age of your system. It's very difficult to estimate based on other's bills.
For example, when we bought our current home, our system was 15 years old and not the best. It was running very pure and burning a lot of oil. We replaced it with a WEil-McClane before moving in, replaced a lot of the baseboard unit, signed up for COD (we didn't need service with such a new system) and saved at least $1800 last year (we bought the house in Oct but didn't even live in it until March). It would have been more had we lived there.
Best thing to do is ask abot the oil bill on any particular house you are interested in.

We have a 2200 sq ft house that the heat remains at 62 when we are not home, 64 when we are & back to 60 at night. We have dual zones in the house. The system in our house is original & not efficient.
Right now we do the COD bit bc it is a lot cheaper. We fill every 6 weeks or so & usually spend about $400 depending on the price of oil. We fill when the tank is at 1/4. We have a 275 gallon tank

I have an 1100SQ Ft Levitt House.
I just got my big bill for the winter and it was $436. I would say it is from december to now.
I usually get a bill every two to three months for around $236.
In our house, we have Oil heat and Oil hot water. There is no hot water heater. Our hot water, is soooo hot.

oil bill? not sure what you are referring to. i pay for deliveries and pay a LIPA bill every other month, no monthly oil bills. i don't know the exact figure but i pay about $1,000 per delievery. i pay in full so no monthly.

I know. We live up in Putnam County and I feel that the fuel prices (gas/oil, etc.) are so much higher. Even my friends said it when they visited this weekend.
It's comforting to hear these prices (web site) in LI because we are moving back.

i have gas, and i know our monthly bills are definately no where near where your oil bills are.
And we keep our house at 68 during the day when no one is him.
and when we are home we keep it from 72-74 at night when we are sleeping

We do the same. Our highest delivery was $249. We don't get oil every month.

Holy God... I would die if my heat was that high at night...  We keep ours at 62 at night.

Maathy I think I used your co for my 1st delivery! Thanks. I had to switch it up this time because they will only deliver 300 gallons or more and i only wanted 100 this time. So far we have gotten through the winter with 400 gallons at roughly 2.00 per gallon. I paid $100 for the contract
