How much is reasonable to pay for house cleaning on LI?
I just moved from Manhattan, so I'm trying to get a sense of how much I can expect to pay on LI. I have a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath house. Thanks!

not sure if this will be helpful- but I was just quoted $100 for a 3 bedroom/2 bath apartment in Bayside
I would rather pay little extra b/c I got a referal- and I can trust this person to come in when I am not home
I was paying $65 for a 1 bedroom/1 bath on Long Island
and this apartment is much bigger so I think it's fair

we pay $60 for a large 2 bedroom/ 2 bath - she does a great job and was a referral from our neighbors. we were paying $50 for a studio so I think it's reasonable!

Depends if you go with someone independent or a service. It may also depend on how frequently you have your home cleaned. I will FM you what I pay my cleaning service.

I pay $70 twice a month for two/sometimes three girls to clean my three bedroom, 1.5 bath house.

We pay $75. She cleans the house top to bottom....Washes our sheets and some of our laundry and cleans out the refrigerator. We have a 3bedroom, 1 bath home
She comes every other saturday and is there from 8:30am to 1pm

I pay $80 per cleaning. I have a 3 BR, 3 bath split level house.

If you only use organic wouldn't you want her to use your vacuum? Who knows what she's vacuuming up in other places

yea, I agree with that... I'd be leery letting my cleaning person bring her own vac into my house. I think of how easily fleas manifest, and the idea of someone else's dirt in my home freaks me out.

thats a 4bdrm/2.5 bath colonial with an office..is that norm?
and it wasn't merrymaids..

For a bonded, insured company, that isn't too far off the mark for a larger home.

We paid $60 an hour for a crew of 3 men to come in. It took them 2 hours to clean all three floors.

That's high for an uninsured individual working off the books, but not really that high for a bonded, insured company. The companies are always going to charge more...
ETA - I pay less for my company every other week, but my home is a bit smaller. I know certain companies are higher than others.
Also, what is included in the price? Laundry? If so, then it's going to cost more.

what size home do you have? we gave a colonial 3,000 sq ft
she is licensed and insured...and no laundry
can you recommend yours?

I pay $80 every other week for 2 women to come and scrub the house (my kids do an excellent job of making it a mess!)... they are usually here for a little over 2 hrs... its a 3 bed, 1 1/2 bath

I pay $85... she stays about 5 hours.
I have 3 BR, 2 1/2 bath... but I also have an extra attic/playroom upstairs and a fairly decent sized house...
I used to pay $70 and they did a terrible job!
