How much should he be eating at each bottle
He is 6 weeks old and this week we went from breastfeeding to formula. I give him 4 oz but he doesnt usually last the 4 hours. Sometimes he does but it usually 2 hours that pass and he is still hungry so I give him another 2. He is probably 11lbs now. Is 5-6oz to much to give him at each feeding?

If he's 11 lbs. then 5-6ounces should be fine. If he spits up it's too much. My ped. told me to divide their weight in half and that's what they *should* be eating. Isabella is 10 lbs. and she eats in between 4-5 ounces.

IMO 4 hours is too long to wait and give a 6 week old his feeding. Try feeding him every 2 1/2-3 hrs consistently. In regards to 5-6oz- give you child as much as he wants- the only way to tell if it is too much is if he spits most of it out (i know it's a terrible way to find out) but it will become consistent in terms of ozs fed.

MTG I think you are right about the 21/2 to 3 hours because that seems to be when he is hungry but I know in the hospital they spread it out to 4 hours so I thought it contiuned at home. My SIL also does that span with my nephew but he is 5 months old. Thanks for your help.
