how much to give for an engagement party?
they are good friends of my SO...he's known them both for around 10 years...how much do you think?

for my informal eparty (i had in the backyard) most couples gave $100
very close friends gave $200-250.

I recently went to two engagement parties for close friends. I bought them each a gift for about $30 and gave them $50 in a card.
So I spend about $80-$85 on each couple.

Then what do you give for the wedding if you give that much for an e-party? I usually give $100-$150.

well the op said "good friends" so id give 200-250 for the eparty and 450-500 for the wedding
a regular friend or coworker would be $150 for the eparty and $300-350 for the wedding

Wow!! We told my gf the other day we were giving $200 for a wedding and she said she would give $50 and that we were giving so much!
I am going to a wedding later in the year and giving $300 (from the family but only I am going). I thought that was good. I

I would spend around $100 on a gift for the couple. I leave the $ gift for the wedding.
