How much to spend for Christmas gift for 2x/week babysitter?

Just wondering what you think...

I only started with her 2 weeks ago. She watches my little guy in her home with other children 1-3 times per week.

I LOVE HER. I plan on staying with her twice a week - with some weeks even more.

What would you suggest I spend?

I was thinking of getting her a gift basket of breakfast goodies from our favorite Tennessee restaurant for her and her family (pancake mix, fruit preserves, syrup, ham, biscuit mix and gravy in a big gift basket).

a) is that a good gift?
b) how much would you spend in this situation?

I would probably spend 50-75. I like the idea of the basket. It sounds nice. Either that or a gift card somewhere.

I gave mine a 50 GC last yr to her favorite restaurant. I'm going to get her a GC to her nail salon this year, same amount. Hth

I guess I'm cheap because I would say $20-25, especially since you have only known her for 2 weeks.

I did the gift basket and a snowman platter with their family name personalized. I think I spent more than I should have... about $75, but I'm happy with it. :)

I am in a similar situation but I wasnt planning on giving her anything extra. I feel like it would be more awkward for me to give her something than not since by Xmas she will only have been watching my DH for less than a month.

And due to the fact that my babysitter is making the equivalent of $150,000 before tax based on what I am assuming she makes in cash every month I think she can manage the holidays, lol. (She watches a few kids.)
