How much TV does your toddler watch?
And what do they watch?
Jordana watches Seseame Street, Dora or Jack's Big Music Show for an hour on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Now I get the whole Saturday morning cartoon thing. I thought it was for the kids. Now I know it is really for the parents.

So far none. I put it on and she ignores it. She still prefers music to TV. Sometimes I wish she'd watch some, just for a little downtime.

not so much. she really prefers music and playing to TV. She'll watch a little Sesame street and today she watched about 10 minutes of Jack's big music show- but that was right before nap time.

Too much!
Unfortunately, DH and I are totally TV people. We often use the TV for our background noise.
DD watches JoJo Circus and The Wiggles every morning. She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, My Friends Tigger and Pooh, It's a Big World, Higglytown Heroes and Super Why. We have a bunch of Baby Einstein DVD's and Bear in the Big Blue House.....she loves all of them too.

DD watches TV while I get ready in the morning. Maybe an hour or even more, depending on what's going on.
We do not have Noggin, after the PBS shows go off for the day at noon, there is no more TV on, unless I am watching it.
My TV is on 90% of the time. Doesn't mean the kids are watching it all day.

Re: How much TV does your toddler watch?
TOTALLY! I look forward to weekend mornings when I can laze around in bed while Alex watches her disney shows!
Alex watches about a half hour every morning in bed while DH showers - she usually watches JoJo the clown and maybe part of Wiggles.
On the weekends, maybe a little more, because we're not rushing to get to work or to get her to school. Unfortunately, she loses all interest by 40 minutes or so.

Same here. I am lucky if she will watch for 5 minutes at a time. If I put music on that will keep her busy ancing for 15 minutes so I can get some things done.

Re: How much TV does your toddler watch?
He watches an hour in the morning. 1st Baby Einstein - then the Backyardigans.
He will then watch one other show after dinner and before his bath. I just got Baby Babble so I have been putting that on - instead of the Backyardigans.
If I need a break during the day (if he hasn't napped and is cranky) then I will put on an episode of the Backyardigans.
So, in total between 1 1/2-2 hours a day.

Re: How much TV does your toddler watch?
We always have the TV on in our house, but it doesn't always mean he is watching it. He only STOPS to watch a few things, most of the time it is on for the noise when he is playing with other things!
Noah loves: Roary the Racing Car Bob the Builder In the Night Garden Yo Gabba Gabba Cars (the movie)
thats pretty much it.

Re: How much TV does your toddler watch?
Quite a bit, but never without us there, so we make sure it is an interactive experience. They respond to questions asked by the show, and we ask them questions about what they are watching. We also have Closed Captioning on all the time. I think what and how they watch TV is a big reason why DS has been reading since 3 years old, and his intelligence and imagination is so advanced for his age.
DC are currently learning a little bit of Chinese from a new show called "Ni-Hao Kai-Lan". It's along the lines of Dora the Explorer, but they speak Chinese. I'm also picking up quite a few words and phrases. I run them past my coworker who speaks Chinese, and he either helps correct me, or tells me I've got it down OK.

US too. But, DS will watch, and then play, then watch, then play, etc. He is not just sitting there in a trance for 8 hours straight! Well, if I left on Wow Wow Wubbzy, he would be!

Re: How much TV does your toddler watch?
He watches none regularly.
Baseball and sports because people are over.
He watched word world a couple times for 10 minutes and clapped when they made a word. He's definitely going to watch that in a couple years!
