How much would you spend on a gift
for a first birthday party for someone you don't know? We are invited to a 1st birthday for twins and all I know are their names and we have to go. I already spent $30 on each of them and then was going to get a book each also. Is this enough? They are family.

Yes, I think that is fine. For people we hardly know, $30 - $40 a kid is perfect.

Re: How much would you spend on a gift
If I hardly know them my MAXIMUM would be $50 (each child) . unless i find a good sale for clothing, and then get them a small toy or book is fine.

$30 for a child I hardly know would be fine IMO....I usually spend $50-60 for someone we know better...
