How often do you clean out your newborns/infant's nose?
Even when you don't see any real boogies-- I feel like it's something you should do every couple of days to make sure the passageway is clear.

Hope not...I havent done anything. I hear their skin inside their nose is delicate and not to use the bulb for a good while.

i only use the bulb when he is stuffed up. i clean the outside with a q-tip when it is dirty/crusty but that's about it.

Re: How often do you clean out your newborns/infant's nose?
I never heard this and I never cleaned out my DS's nose. In fact, even when he had a cold my ped told me not to use it but to use the drops he said you can do more harm than good with those things!

I never did. I feel like it can make it dryer.

Re: How often do you clean out your newborns/infant's nose?
I don't clean unless I see boogs up there. Needess cleaning can cause swelling and irritation- which WOULD cause congestion.

I don't regularly clean her nose out, just grab those little boogies when they hang out. Other than that I leave her little nose alone.

Re: How often do you clean out your newborns/infant's nose?
Only once or twice when she was so stuffy she couldn't breath through her nose.
I read that it can be very irritating to their nasal passages to do it more often than it is needed.

Re: How often do you clean out your newborns/infant's nose?
my dd had a sinus infection at 2 months old. the ENT cleaned out her nose pretty well that time. but all he said to do for her was lots and lots of saline nose drops. i alwas found the more drops i got into her nose the clearer it got. i guess keeping things moist helped her blow the gunk out of her nose.
