how often do you wash and condition your hair?

I wash and condition my hair every day. (I go to the gym every day so it gets gross and I NEED to wash it). However, I heard so many times it's not good for your hair. Does anyone know if there is truth to this?

everyday. I have the oiliest hair, that I have too or it gets gross.

Every other day, I've been doing this as long as I can remember. On the days I don't wash it, I admit it does look a little more oily in the front/top, mainly because I'm always running my hands through my hair and I use moisturizer on my face and hands. And, on the days I don't wash I just wear the front up in a little clip. I have pretty healthy, shiny hair so I would like to think that not overwashing it helps keep it "good".

I had a coworker who had beautiful hair when it was washed, I know she went to the gym daily and I have to say she had greasy hair a lot so maybe she didn't have time to wash it or didn't realize how oily it looked, I'm guessing she only washed it once a week. I always wanted to say something to her!

Everyother day. I've gone two days and not washed it. Depends how good my blowout is.

When I was younger I used to work in salons. Every place I ever worked they always emphasized NOT to wash your hair everyday. It dries out your hair and actually there are natural oils on your skin (when you run your hands thru your hair, etc.) that are very good for your hair. So, the less you wash it the better.

I wash mine every 2 days.

ugh every day! I hate it but unfortunately with curly hair its the only way it looks good.

Everyday. It is too greasy not to.

I try to give it a break if I know I dont have anywhere to go on the weekends, I dont care what the ppl at Target think.

I try to wash it every 2-3 days. I used to wash it everyday and my hair started getting really damaged. I do deep conditioning once a week.

I used to wash mine every day, now every other. I have really oily hair but then I discovered the powder trick. My hair dresser also told me to put conditioner only on the lower half of my hair and not on the top.... this helps a ton. My hair feels so much healthier now.

Every other day. I have pretty thick hair and so it doesn't get oily too fast. I could even go 3 days if I wanted, but I prefer my hair freshly washed and blown out...it has the most volume then. Once I sleep on it, it flattens out quite a bit.

i always did everyday... but i've been out of work for about 5 weeks now and have only been washing it every other day and i notice that it comes out so much nicer now when i do wash it. and it looks fine when i don't. saves so much time!

i wash my hair every other day...sometimes every 2 days but if i do go that long then im def wearing a ponytail

2-3 times a week, but I have really dry hair, so it never looks oily. Truthfully, I can go 5-6 days without washing and it looks fine, and I have noticed that the less I wash it, the healthier it tends to feel and look.

Every day, I look like a hot mess if I don't wash it for one day.

Everyday, my oily hair does now allow me to skip. EVER. My mom has really dry hair and can skip a day even two if she really wanted to and her hair would look the same.

I wash and condition 3 times a week. My hair is very thick and dry.

I have combination hair. (oily on top, dry on the bottom). If I dont wash my hair everyday it looks stringy.

Every morning. Will not leave the house without washing. It's a complete oil slick by the morning.


Sometimes I wash at night too if I am headed out since my hair can already be pretty oily by the evening.
