Re: how often do you wash your pillows?
Never. I didn't know you could wash a pillow - I would think all the stuffing would get destroyed.
I use pillow coverings (pillow ticking) on each pillow and then the pillowcases. Those pillow tickings get changed 3 times a year.

Re: how often do you wash your pillows?
Never. I just get new ones when they get shabby looking/feeling.
Although I am contemplating washing my Snoogle that I used when I was pregnant.

Re: how often do you wash your pillows?
I wash my pillows every few months, plus I have covers on them. I have bad allergies and hate the idea of bed mites!
Now, with my new washer/dryer they have a sanitary cycle that has really really hot heat and is really long. I just did all of them recently and it is great! I highly recommend!

I thought they would fall apart in the washer so I've never washed my pillows. I'd love to, though! What cycle do you put it on, a gentle or handwash?

Re: how often do you wash your pillows?
I was told you are NOT supposed to wash them. I was told to fluff them up throw them in the dryer for about 35-40 mins. on low.
I do that maybe once a month.

Actually on my whirlpool there is a separate sanitary cycle (I have a front loader). I do have it do a second "spin" function to get all the water out.
Then, hot heat and voila. Now, it's like a new pillow. It's really nice to not have germs and such on it.

Re: how often do you wash your pillows?
We have those memory foam ones for your neck. They come with a cover that gets washed once a month. My actual pillowcase gets washed every week.

Re: how often do you wash your pillows?
i use pillow protectors as well as pillow cases and wash the pillows about 3x a yr. wasn't sure if i could do it more often.
here is the info for washing down pillows. temp setting isn't mentioned but i wash mine w/ hot water. they come out SO soft, fluffy and smelling GREAT.
Cleaning Down Pillows
Down pillows can be tossed in the washing machine. Wash two at a time to balance the load, set the machine on a gentle cycle. Put them through a double rinse to make sure detergent is totally rinsed out and do not use fabric softener as it can cause an allergic reaction. To freshen the pillows, you can add 1/4 cup of white vinegar to the final rinse. Tumble dry on low, fluffing them often. Adding a couple of new tennis balls or a clean athletic shoe will fluff them up well and also help them dry faster. When washing pillows, a good idea is to use a protective pillow cover that can be removed easily.
The key is to use a mild soap that doesn't contain enzymes, like Ivory Snow. Woolite works, too. Regular laundry detergents will remove the natural oils in the down, eventually destroying the down.

Re: how often do you wash your pillows?
I've washed my down pillows on gentle and they thrown them in the dryer with some new tennis balls to fluff them back up - I also keep a pillow cover on them in addition to the normal pillow case I wash once a week - I probably wash the pillows 4 or 5x a year -
Those things were $100 each !!! - I'm not tossing them after a few months !!
