Same here. We get new one every copule of months. Trid washing and drying one, came out all lumpy and miss shaped.

I'm kind of anal about my pillows. We get new pillows every 6 months, but during the time they are in use, they get washed every 2 weeks. I put 2 pillows at a time in the washer and when I put them in the dryer I throw 3-4 tennis balls in with them to keep them from getting lumpy

do you use your own wash machine to wash them? I always bring them to the laundromat. I just didn't want anything to happen to my own wash machine-but I will try!

i've never washed my pillow. i have a cover and a case on it and i wash those frequently. i buy a new pillow when mine gets flat

I really thought that was the point of using (and washing) a pillow case. Same thing with sheets. You don't wash your mattress, you just wash your sheets/mattress cover.
I have heard of getting zip up cases for those with bad allergies (and washing the zip case). I really never heard of washing a pillow at all.

I agree...i've never washed a pillow either. I've had my pillows for awhile now, and it's time for new ones, but I don't wash them....

We always bought new, but thanks ladies, i just washed 2 pillows this morning to try it out and one opened, thereby leaving pillow fluff all over the inside of my washing machine!

you should be able to - I can wash mine - it takes a while to dry thoroughly, but I try and wash them once a month.

I agree...i've never washed a pillow either. I've had my pillows for awhile now, and it's time for new ones, but I don't wash them....
Same here. We always had the zip pillow protectors that we would wash when we washed our sheets/pillow cases. I never heard of washing a pillow.

Me too.
I get new pillows for everyone - except for my husband. He likes to use the same pillow forever so he uses 2 pillow covers and a pillowcase and uses the friggin' pillow for YEARS. He likes flat flat flat pillows and there is some comfort for him with using the same pillow. I hide his pillow in the closet and use the new fluffy ones on the bed. He tosses the new pillows and pulls out his flat thing every night.

I actually do. I steam clean my mattress at least once a month. DH is a mechanic & no matter how much he showers or cleans after work, he sweats out all of the crap that gets in his skin at work. I just hate that griminess.
