How old was DC when you found out they had allergies?

I'm asking about food and/or environmental allergies. Do those start to show at the same time? Also, did you suspect it before they were diagnosed? DS has all the signs my brother did at this age, so I'm beginning to wonder. TIA!

With DD it was pretty early, a few weeks old but she wasn't seen by an allergist until just shy of 6 months when they diagonsed her. That's when we found out she is allergic to egg, dairy, dog.

Then by just introducing new foods I found out she is allergic to mango's, peaches, apricots and avacado. She would break out in hives right away.

We've only checked for food allergies but I brought DD to the allergist at 2 months, and then back again at 4 months. She'll be 5 months next week.. She's allergic to milk, soy, barley, wheat, eggs, peas... she even showed a mild allergy to rice and bananas. We haven't checked environmental yet but I wouldn't be surprised.

For me I just *knew*, but she did have a rash on her chest for 2 months that just would NOT go away. DH has a lot of allergies and my parents have a lot as well. Between the 3 of them there's nothing left to be allergic to. And sadly, DD is falling right in line with them instead of me. I'm the freak of the family - no serious allergies to speak of.. Just a minor allergy to wool.

No but I'm curious what others have to say - I think my DD has some allergy issues (environmental not food - yet) but my ped swears it is very rare for kids her age to have environmental allergies - but food allergies are common.
