how old was you child when he had Peanut butter?
my MIL gave my son peanut butter for the first time today... he is 1 1/2 years old... it has been 2 hours no reaction does this mean that i can start givving it to him?

Did you check with your pediatrician?
I thought it wasn't recommended until age 2. I have not given it to my daughter yet--she turned 2 last month. My ped. didn't seem so high on me starting even now and she said if I was going to, use only a very little. I figured Kate doesn't know what peanut butter is, so she doesn't know what she's missing.  However, I do know others that have started early with no problems.

I've heard two or even three.
I've heard it is because if you introduce it earlier, the chance of them developing an allergry is greater.

That's what I've heard, as well. And you won't necessarily get a reaction the first time that your DC has it.
