Re: How old was your baby/child when they first slept over someone's house without you?
Never. Not that I am opposed to it, the opportunity never presented itself yet. And since my kids do better in our house, my parents or sister will come to our house and stay if we needed them to. We haven't been away overnight without them yet. When I had DD, DH was home at night with our DS.

I'm not going to let Julia sleep out till shes much older, I'm not ready for that yet. I wouldn't be able to sleep with out her with me or in the same house for that matter.
Maybe when shes turns 3 or 4 I will think about it--lol

My oldest was about 6 months. We had a wedding in NJ and we lived in Queens at the time. He was being babysat on LI, it didnt make sense to go get him at 3am. He was fine but he was always very good at separating from us (still is)

At 5 months old when we went away to Mexico. Since--we've done it once again when we had a late night event to go to and we're even considering it again tonight since we have a holiday party
ETA- Mikey did fantastic. My IL's and parents are great with him. he slept pretty well and they kept him on schedule.

3 years old
I waited for him to be old enough to tell me everything that went on while I was gone

Bryan hasnt yet- he is 18months Its just that my mom is not alive and although my inlaws are ok- its just not the same as leaving with my own mom. I like things done a certain way and Im really attached to my son. I would miss him tooo much.

Re: How old was your baby/child when they first slept over someone's house without you?
Emily is 14 months old and has yet to sleep over anyone's house except for ours. She doesn't really nap anywhere except for in the pack n play at the babysitters and in her own crib -- we've tried other pack n plays as well as other cribs (my sister's house) and she wouldn't sleep at all!
We are going to FL next summer and I'm nervous enough for that, and we'll be with her! I don't know if I'm anywhere near ready for her to sleep over someone's house iwthout us!

We had a wedding when DD was 2 mos old so I left her with my best friend over night. I wasnt worried at all - she is a nurse and Ive known her since we were born!

Re: How old was your baby/child when they first slept over someone's house without you?
I think about 18 months - we had to go to a wedding.
We didn't do it earlier, because of sleep issues (we try to be consistent with sleep training) and there wasn't a chance to go anywhere!

Re: How old was your baby/child when they first slept over someone's house without you?
2 months. My sister offered to take them for a night and we really, really needed sleep so we took her up on her offer. She had a rough night with them, but they did great. And mommy and daddy were much better the next day.
Other then that, not yet. We have asked our MIL to this weekend, but she could not, so one of us stayed home.

At 3 months old, DS slept over the babysitter's house while we went to a wedding. It went great.

Re: How old was your baby/child when they first slept over someone's house without you?
It hasn't happened yet, but I'm hoping it will soon. DS is almost 8 weeks old and my b-day is in January. I'm hoping to get one night in the city with DH, but it's DH who doesn't want to leave him overnight. He doesn't want to leave him unless he's sleeping through the night. The kid is on breast milk, he may not consistently sleep through the night for a while.

Re: How old was your baby/child when they first slept over someone's house without you?
She slept at IL's at 6 weeks old for 1 night. And then at my parents for 4 days at 4 1/2 mos (DH's sister got married in Jamaica). Both grandparents watch her while I work so I'm totally comfortable with her staying with them.
