How old was your DC when they were able to hold their head up?

Just curious to see what the average age is.
My DH is SO paranoid about supporting her neck, etc...I was wondering how old they were when they were strong enough to hold their head up on their own?

From day one. He held his head up for minutes at a time. All the doctors and nurses were surprised with how strong his neck muscles were....I guess I am not much help...

My son's ability to hold his "big" head up while really young helped him with tummy time. He was so interested in seeing everything. I was able to put him in the bumbo when he was really young.

DD #1 was at about 3 months until i wasn't worried about her having it crash down! she could always hold her head up but it took until 3 months until she had "total" control and i didn't have to have my hand there in case she got tired.

my ds was also from day 1.. now within the last 2 weeks its been sturdy and looking all around but still has trouble with tummy time (only a min or two) ds is now 11 weeks...

DS had fairly good neck control from the beginning but started holding his head up at around 2 weeks old.

Since day 1, during tummy time he'd hold his head up for a 20 seconds then scream and crash it down. He hated it.

But as for supporting head, I stopped at about 3m. Because he was holding it himself when sitting supported, but lazy as hell to do it, if there was a way for him to slouch and lie down he did, and still does.

Jack could hold his head up from birth but he was still unsteady at times - would bobble a little or crash to the side

at about 7 weeks, i wasnt worried about him bobbling around!

DD could do it fairly well at 3 months, and is almost perfect now at 4 months, though she still "hangs" her head sometimes... I still support her neck when I hold her now.
