How old was your DC when you started to take them trick or treating??
I plan on taking her around to see a few people and some family but I know a few friends are taking there children out trick or treating...so I was just wondering what age everyone started.

Actual trick or treating in my neighborhood, when he was 16 months. We used his push convertible car.

One day away from 16 months. We only went to 5 or six houses (i.e. our closest neighbors) who asked to see him. They all told me they had special candy or toys just for him that he could eat or play with. He loved it.

I took Robbie to the homes of our friend's and family when he was a baby. He didn't 'trick or treat' like.. to random houses with a basket .. until he was 2.5 - and at that time we took him with his baby brother who was only 3 months. Noah started collecting candy around the age of 2.

DS is just 20 months---we will take him to about 4-5 neighborhood houses he knows the families well. His pregnant mommy will help him with the candy!

He was 14 months. We went to the neighboorhood homes of those we knew. This year we may do the same thing.

I started taking Megan last year..she was a little over 2. She got tired fast so we only went to a few places but it was good enough for her to get the taste of it, to take pics and to have her wear her costume.

2 and a half months old!
Our friends had a 3m old so we took them both out last halloween in their strollers. Dressed them up and dressed ourselves up.
Put her 'bucket' on her stroller.
It was just fun. It was a nice night and we all had a blast. There was another little girl with us who was about 1.
The candy, my hubby ate over the next few months. I think we just threw out the bucket when we moved!
1st Halloween - 2 & 1/2 month old she went as a cat
2nd Halloween - 1 yr old she'll go as a fairy.

The first Halloween she dressed up for, she was 13 mos, but we just put her in the stroller and walked around the neighborhood...no trick or treating. The following Halloween, she was 25 mos. and her sister was 5 mos. We went to about 5 houses and she had fun. Last year, she was 3 and she REALLY had a blast!

It will be this year and he will be 23 months. We will probably just go to a few houses - immediate neighbors and family close by.
