How old were you the 1st time you voted?
I am a little embarrassed to say this is my 1st election I am voting in. I am 33 and just registered to vote

18!  it was not a presidential election, but I voted for local officials and a Senator I think.
the year after that I voted for a President, who didn't win

My high school registered the seniors and I will always remember getting the absentee ballot when I was away at school saying:
Date eligible to vote: November 2, 1998
Date of election: November 4, 1998
ETA: That was not presidential, my first presidential was when I was 20. And it did not go the way I hoped it would

I was 18 when I first voted. I registered to vote on my 18th birthday and voted via absentee ballot in 1988 in the presidential election between Bush and Dukakis. Yes, I am that old!

I think that is a great idea. Is this a common thing? Do they offer voter registration in high schools now? They didn't in the 80s. Just curious. Anyone know?

Exactly the same for me!!
I vote in every election... even school board and water commissioner.
We register our seniors in their economics/participation in gov't classes.

In my school district, carle place, the government & economics teacher passed it out to all of us when we where seniors....
They still do it
That is how my younger siblings also registered.

I was registered in HS also and I graduated in the early 80's
