How soon did you tell anyone?

How soon did you tell parents or close friends you were PG?

Did you tell as a soon as you got a BFP or wait for your first appointment?

This is my first time trying and first positive. I'm high risk both age and weight wise so I haven't said anything yet but at the same time want to tell everyone!!

My parents new immediately. We went through surgery, fertility treatments, IVF and the works and they were a huge help through it all. Driving with me to Manhasset when DH couldn't go. Helping out with taking care of me when I was put on bed rest. My mom even did my injections since DH travels a lot for work and would't be able to do them every day.

My Uncle also knew immediately since I work directly under him and he was there when I got the call. He has a big mouth, so my Aunt and Cousins new within days.

I had to tell my boss immediately too, because I have a very labor intensive job and couldn't do it all, so he needed to know. But he is my dad's best friend so it wasn't weird telling him.

We waited about a week to tell my in-laws and we went over and told my grandfather at about 1 1/2 months in, because he was 93 and deteriorating so we wanted to make sure we got to tell him, just in case. He made it to my reveal, but I am glad we told him when we did because he was a lot more with it then.

Then DH's siblings we told at about 2 months, only because we had everyone together for brunch and getting all of us together when its not the holidays is rare, so we took advantage of it.

There were also a handful of very very very close friends who knew we were going through IVF who I told early on. But everyone else we waited until 12 weeks.

Told parents sooner but I waited till after first trimester to tell others

Told my parents and sister around 10 -12 weeks.
in laws and close friends around 12-14 weeks.
Work.and work peeps I waited till around 24 weeks or so.

My sis and two best friends i told right away

My dad and my inlaws after first sono 9 weeks

Coworkers not till around 20/21 weeks after the level II

Told it to those who I would tell if I had a MC or something genetically wrong what I'd do:

My parents & sister at positive test
DH family at heartbeat
Everyone else after genetic testing

Tell whenever you want.

And also age doesn't make you high risk. There are plenty of women having babies well into their 40s

Told our parents and siblings right away especially that we did IVF and they knew. I look at it like this ...god forbid something happen I'm going to tell my family so didn't see a point in waiting.

First pregnancy:
Told nobody until parents/siblings at around 14-15 weeks, slowly started telling friends around 20 weeks or so, told work at 29 weeks! (still didn't look pregnant, just a little fat, so people were shocked... then popped around 31 weeks & people were like, OH there it is!), announced on FB around 33 weeks with a pic of myself.

This pregnancy:
Told a few good friends before 12 weeks, told our parents/siblings again around 14-15 weeks, started telling some other friends around 18 weeks, told work people starting around 21 or 22 weeks (starting to get a belly & when my coworker asked me about it & I caught other people staring, I knew it was time). Now at 25 weeks everybody pretty much knows, although a stranger might not necessarily be able to tell depending on what I'm wearing. I haven't put anything on FB (actually I did, but only a few people "got it").

Told my sister the day after I found out. Waited to tell the rest of the family until after the first appointment.

Some close friends I told right away.

Our immediately families knew within the week of getting a positive test. All other were told in between 10-12 weeks because by that time I had already had 4 Sonos

I wanted to wait I until the first appointment to tell my mom but now I feel
sort of guilty not saying anything. I think she has a feeling but I have not seen her and want to tell her in person.
I feel that she is going to want to tell the world (which I totally understand).
I am going to try to hold off until valentines day and give out parents grandparent cards.

Told my Dad around 10 weeks, DH's family around 11 weeks, friends I started telling around 12 weeks but the rest of my family didn't know until I was 14 weeks.

We did more of an "official" announcement on our Christmas cards at 22 weeks.

Honestly though, everyone is different. Do whatever feels right to you!

First pregnancy didn't tell a soul until after 12 weeks that was immed family. Didn't tell anyone else until after the nt scan

Second pregnancy we told our immed family at 10 weeks only bc that's when we were getting together for the holidays. Didn't tell anyone else until after I got my nt and verifi results at 13.5 weeks.

we told everyone right away, as we saw them.
I have never been a believer in waiting, it is too exciting and if anything happened I would want their support anyway.

For #1 my parents/sister knew right away since I was seeing a RE. We told rest of family at around 8 weeks and everyone else at 12 weeks.

This one we waited to tell parents until 11/12 weeks. Told rest of family around 14 weeks and everyone else at 15 weeks.
